Getting There

By Air

The national airline is Rwanda Express.

The main international airport is Kigali International (KGI), which is 12km from the city.  Buses and taxis run to the city.

By Road

There are road routes to Tanzania, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.  Ploitical instability can cause problems at borders.

Buses run from ampala in Uganda.

Getting Around

By Air

Charter flights are available around the country but can be very expensive.

By Road

Traffic drives on the right.  Many roads are not paved and landslides are common in the rainy season.  4 x 4 is required in many areas.

A bus service is operated by the government, and taxis are available in most major towns.  There is no representation of international car hire firms in Rwanda, but there are some local companies in Kigali.  Fuel is very expensive.
