Getting There

By Air

Air Madagascar is the national airline. The main international airport is Antananarivo, 1hich is 17 km from the airport.  There taxis available, or air Madagascar run buses into the city.

By Water

Main port is Toamasina.  Some Indian Ocean cruises stop here.

you can fly around Madagascar toi most major towns.  I you fly to madagascar with Air Madagascar they offer discounts in domestic flights

By Water

There are numerous coastal services around madagascar.  Inland most rivers are not navigable.

By Rail

there are 5 rail links on the island:
Antananarivo to Toamasina
Fianarantsoa to Manakara
Antananarivo to Antsirabe
Moramaga to Lake Alaotra
Antananarivo to Moramanga and Lake Alaotra.

By Road

Road conditions are poor in general especially following the 2006 cyclone season.  Traffic drives on the right.  During the rainy season most roads becom impassable.
Buses run between most major towns and a flat rate is charged. But buses are often unreliable and crowded.
