Getting There

By Air

Dalloo Airlines is the National airline, they offer flights to France, Saudi Arabia, Kenya and Ethiopia.

The main international airport is Djibouti (JIB) it is 5 km from the city and taxis are available.

By Rail

There are daily train services between Addis Ababa and Dire Dawa in Ethiopia which passes through Djibouti, but the trains are unreliable and old.

By Road

There are road links with Assab in Eritrea and west into Ethiopia, but roads standards are poor and travel is difficult.

Getting Around

By Air

There are no scheduled internal flights in Djibouti, though charters may be available.

By Rail

The only rail serviec is to the boredr with Ethiopia, click for more information

By Road

Traffic drives on the right.  4 x 4 is reccommended.  There are buses available from Djibouti to most towns and villages, services leave when they are full.  Some car hire is available, it is strongly reccomended to carry extra fuel and water.
