Innere Stadt

Stephansdom

St Stephens Cathedral is in the centre of Vienna in the pedestrianised Stephensplatz. Parts of the cathedral date back to the 12th century.  You can do a guided tour of the catacombs or take the lift up the Eagles Tower, or the walk up over 300 steps to the top of the spire for stunning views.

Jesuitenkirche

a high baroque church to the east of Stephansplatz, with very striking features inside.

Jüdisches Museum


Has an exhibit on contemporary Jewish life and an eerie hologram display depicting life in the ghetto.

Holocaust Memorial

is in Judenplatz, which was the site of the medieval Jewish ghetto.

Haus der Musik

is a fun and interactive museum on the nature of sound. Great for families.

Kaiserappartements

The imperial appartments were formerly home to Emperor Franz Josef I and Empress Elizabeth. the appartments arenow a museum dedicated to the couple and their life.

Schönbrunn Palace:


One of the cities primary attractions. 40 rooms of this 1440 room mansion are open to the public, guided tours are available. in the grounds of the palace are landscaped gardens, a maze, labyrthine and zoo.  Plus some good views back over the city.
