National Park of American Samoa has some good trails and due to a reasonable amount of rain is a lush green environment, guided trails to the volcanoes in the park are possible. the parks visitor centre is at Pago Plaza, bu the park is spread over 3 islands: Ofu, Ta'u Tutuila. About 3/4 of the park (over 3000 hectares) is rainforest. Ta'u Island is considered to be the brithplace of the Polynesian people and is a sacred site. Tula village on the island of Tutuila is a traditional village and is next to beautiful white beaches. Beaches: the islands are dotted with white sandy beaches, diving, snorkelling, surfing and big game fishing are available from many of them. Or jut relax with a good book and cool drink. |
