Getting There

By Air

The national airline is Albanian Airlines.  The main international airport is Mother Tereze, Tirana, (TIA) which is 26 km from the city.  Shuttles run to the city, fairly regularly or taxis are available.

By Water

Durres is the countries main port and has ferry connections to several Italian ports.
Vlora and Shen Ginji have ferries to Bari, Italy.
Saranda has a connection to Corfu.

By Road

There are road links to Greece, Yugoslavia, Montenegro and Macedonia.  Links to kosovo are currently considered too dangerous to use.



Getting Around

By Water

Durres and Vlora are connected by hgih speed ferry.

By Rail

Rail services connect Tirana to Shkodra, Vlora, Fier, Ballsh and Pogradec, but services are slo and often overcrowded.

By Road

Driving is not reccommended, roads are generally in poor condition, local driving is not generally of a high standard, stret lighting outside of cities is rare, and outside of urban areas fuel stations are rare.
