Albania Travellers Guide: Places To Visit

Tirana:

Martyrs Cemetry: contains the Mother Albania monument and provides good city views.
Skanderburg Square has governemnt buildings built in Italian style

Durres:

Medieval wall leads to a second century BC Amphitheatre, with an early Christian crypt.

Roman Ruins:

Apollonia is 12 km from the town of Vier. The site is still being excavated but the amphitheatre and other parts of the citycan be viewed.  There is a museum on site.
Butrint: was home to the Greeks and Romans and has has a form of settlement since 1000 BC, the following can be viewed at the sight: Temple of Aesculapius, the Nypheum, the Lion Gate, the Dionysus Altar, Roman houses and baths.
